Biography

Patricia Royce

Patricia Royce has successfully written and produced several award-winning and critically acclaimed feature films and television productions.

In 1983, Royce launched her career with the formation of her Seattle-based production unit, The Lensman Company.  Since then she has demonstrated a consistent ability to infuse her films with style, wit and production values that far exceed their limited budgets while single-handedly raising production funds through private investors.  This combination of creative and entrepreneurial spirit has earned the respect of both critics and "bottom liners."

Royce's first production, In Search of the Wow Wow Wibble Woggle Wazzie Woodle Woo ! , won four Emmy Awards in 1985, including one for Royce for Best Producer.  Starring acclaimed singer/songwriter and children's entertainer Tim Noah, this one hour children's film received critical acclaim and enjoys continued success through numerous HBO and Disney Channel broadcasts.  It is currently available on videocassette.

In 1985, Royce produced the Tim Noah  Back to School Special, which won the IRIS Award for outstanding local programming by the National Association of Programmers and Television Executives.

Inspired by her television success, Royce teamed up once again with Tim Noah and  Barry Caillier to co-write Daredreamer , her first feature -length motion picture, in 1990.  Daredreamer was the first non-George Lucas film ever mixed at the Skywalker Ranch.  Festival and test screenings produced rave reviews in both national and regional publications.  The film is currently in release in over 60 countries.

As Producer, Director, co-writer, and star of To Cross The Rubicon, Royce undertook her most ambitious project.  The film premiered theatrically in Cleveland, Ohio and Washington D.C to a sold-out six-week run.  To Cross the Rubicon won as BEST PICTURE at the 1993 Boston Film Festival, and as Critics Choice- Best Picture at the 1994 New Hampshire Film Festival.  To Cross the Rubicon has aired on television in over 30 countries and is available world wide on video cassette and DVD.

In 2002, Royce moved from Key West back to Los Angeles and teamed up with Carmine Esposito to begin the development of a new major motion picture, television series, and book which revolves around Carmine's true life story.
